First Aid at Work

Outline

This Ofqual approved qualification meets the requirements for training first-aiders at work in those schools that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment.

The First Aid at Work Qualification is a 3 day course. We have narrowed contact time down to 2 days on the understanding that an online e-learning element is completed prior to course start. The link to this e-learning element will be sent once booking has been confirmed with Engie's Health and Safety Team. The First Aid at Work Qualification cannot be attained without the completion of this online element.

Description

Topics include the role and responsibilities of a first-aider, being able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally, being able to manage a casualty with external bleeding, being able to manage a casualty with a minor injury, being able to conduct a secondary survey, being able to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries, and being able to administer first aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis. This course also includes an Automated External Defibrillator element.
